Not surprising. I did not think any NHL team would be interested in him, so it is a good move for The Anton.

Awful? I don't really think so.
He kind of got screwed out of playing time, got hurt and really wasn't utilized properly.
This guy had a booming (and accurate) shot from the point and should have gotten far more PP time then what Sutter/Hartley gave.

Keep losing those contracts to Europe! I like seeing the guys that have no future with the team sign elsewhere. Gives opportunity to our own younger players!

Obviously I hope I'm wrong and he does sign for that amount, I just don't want people to set themselves up for disappointment if its 3 or slightly over.

He could not skate worth a damm, positioning was also horrible. He did not get screwed in anyway, he made millions to sit in a pressbox when he should have been making league minimum.

To think that we could have held onto Ian White a couple months extra and got a 2nd rounder instead of the Anton - just sad. Too bad we couldn't have dumped him for a late round pick or unsigned NCAA prospect at the deadline. Adieu Mr Babchuk.

No he was not, and that's not because Butler is a great player, but because Anton could not even knock Butler to the pressbox.

Things would have been so much better if the Flames held on to White and peddled him off for a 2nd round pick at the deadline. The Flames of course weren't operating that way then but it doesn't change the fact that was a better idea then and now.

Funny one player is still in the NHL and one isn't. I guess it's a conspiracy right?

He played badly after coming back from injury but I think he should have been given more opportunities rather than being permanently dog housed.
My avatar will remain the same in honor of The Anton.

Goodbye Anton and good luck over there. Hell of a shot - too bad every other aspect of his game is mediocre at best.

He screwed himself out of playing time by being so bad at the position....it was painful to watch.
