Default Co-ed Pickup Ball Hockey

Hey guys/girls

I have been playing ball hockey with a solid group of people for over a year now but we recently moved into a new facility due to costs, and have had some attrition over the year.

Anyway hoping to recruit some more who just want to have fun and run around. It is co-ed and skill level is all over the place. We normally play Wednesday and Sunday nights.

Could use some more for tomorrow night especially as it is a later gym rental than normal (9-11pm). Location is in the NE, essentially 32ave and 68th Street. Drop me a line if interested and I can give you more details.

Mods please move to different forum if this one isn't appropriate.

Thanks much

There isnt any stupid equipment rules are there?

Not really - only required equipment is a plastic bladed stick and I have an extra you can use if you don't have one.

I played co-ed a season in GHL and some of those girls are tough and careless with their sticks. They will not hesitate to peel your skin back. (Normally a good thing, but in floor hockey, not so much.)

Is this a league or just a group of friends playing? Also, how much?

Hey Jeep - this is just drop in ball hockey, no league so no need for permanent/ongoing commitment or anything like that. Most of us played in various rec leagues before and that is how we met. Got dissatisfied with the leagues one winter and decided to try and make a go of renting gym with people who I had fun playing with instead.

We usually have three 40 min games and throw our sticks in the middle after every game to change things up unless the score is really close. Typically have 14 people playing out and 2 goalies. Four on four play.

Oh and we usually chip in $10 for the gym rental. Goalies pay $5. You can play the first game for free though just to see if you like it or not.

I already play in a Co-Ed drop in on Fridays but maybe I'll give this a shot whenever I don't work those days. If you are short on goalies, let me know through I can also play out. You do this every week?
