WTB - Cheap SSD

I'm trying to speed up an ancient laptop (ooooh - a Centrino!) and figured I might as well try a SSD out since I suspect the ancient HD is probably about to grenade. I'm looking for:


- since a new 60GB drive can be had for $70 or so, I'm looking for something cheaper than that.
- 40GB minimum.
- 2.5" form factor.
- something lightly/moderately used would be preferred.

Are you certain that this laptop supports SATA? A lot of computers of that vintage were still IDE.

Still looking for one of these if anyone has one. Am building a garage-puter so something inexpensive is the key.

Good luck! I tried to get an old laptop working for a family member and I couldn't find a IDE HDD for less than $100.

Sorry, just to clarify, I'm still looking for a SATA SSD. I found a slightly newer carcass to revive for the garage-puter.
