Saw this on the highlights from last night, what an increbible pass. I was also listening to the Fan this morning and I believe it was Eric Francis is quite high on this kid. I also was hearing a ton about him over the year and after watching him play a few games in the playoffs I can't lie he is one hell of a hockey player. He is projected to go in the 10-18 range but after the playoff he is having I could see him going sooner then that. Any chance the Flames could package that St Louis pick with something else to move down? This kid has all the tools to be a stud in this league and would look fantastic in a Flames jersey.
I would love to get Domi with the St Louis pick but I would not give up any picks to get him. I might do something with a guy like Stempniak plus Pitt to get to 15 but I am not sure anyone is interested in that. (Stempniak is worth at most a 2nd at the deadline).
I am hoping he drops do to size but I see the Leafs taking him a few spots ahead of the St Louis pick if he starts to drop.
I was hoping he would stay a little under the radar and we could pick him up with the St. Louis pick, but I guess he's ruined that. What kept him out of the top ten was his small size (height) and his diabetes.

That is siiiiick... I'd put my money on the Leafs moving up to grab him.
I do like the look of Horvat as well. Good size & shot.
If Eric Francis thinks this kid is good, then the last thing in the world we should be doing is drafting him.
Domi was getting lots of love from Kypreos and MacLean today on Hockey Central @ Noon. MacLean believes Domi might go between 7-12, based on his conversations with scouts, one in particular had him ranked at #9.

I've been saying for a while that Domi will go earlier than most think and likely in the top 13 as it's been pretty evident for a while that this kid has skills and game. I would love for him to be available with the Flames 2nd pick but that's likely a pipe dream.
I think Francis is an idiot the majority of the time and I usually disagree with a lot of what he says but I think his comments have some merit in this case. We have been looking for a Centre for god knows how many years. Would I take Domi with the 6th overall pick? Hell no. Would I try to move the St louis pick to move up and get him? Hell yes. We could potentially grab Lindholme/Monohan with pick 6 and Domi with our 2nd first and be set in the centre position for years. He plays a solid two way game, he's gritty, kind of plays like David Clarkson but has a lot more skill. I really hope the Flames are at least looking at this kid.
No chance Domi lasts past the Leafs pick so no chance he's available unless we trade up for him and I don't think it's worth it given how deep this draft is. Compher+Mueller>Domi
If Domi moves up because of a couple good games and one great pass, then so be it -that means that other good players will have to slide down.
There are far too many great prospects in the top 20 to 30 to go spending assets to chase Domi.
Couple good games? Watch him in action for few games, you'll be impressed. I'm no fan of his old man but Max is a player. Tenacious, skill, speed...Only thing he's lacking is size but he makes up for it with the rest of the package.
Good player. I'd take him with the Blues pick but I would convert him to wing tho.

If we did that then we'd probably move Domi to the wing. Lindholm/Monahan + Backlund would be our top two centres long term and maybe put Jankowski in there too.
I like Domi but there's lots of kids to like in this draft. He reminds me a bit of Parise. Wouldn't surprise me to see him go top 15.

Good point I totally forgot about Backlund. Jankowski doesn't even factor into the discussion for me at this point. (still have sour grapes over that pick) I could see Domi playing wing, I would also not be opposed to having the centre depth that he could provide next to backlund/monohan/Lindholm
If he is the same mold as his father, he doesn't need to be huge. Tie wasn't huge but played like he was the biggest guy in the league and was able to back it up. Maybe it's in his genes too. A guy his age can easily pack on 10-15 lbs without hurting his skill or speed.

He's listed on his team site as at a 194 lbs. I heard someone on the tube say he's now at 197. He could probably hit his dad's weight of 207. He's built like St. Louis so height isn't his problem. If he ever starts to fight, say like Iginla, he'll be a great player.
