Rematch of last year's epic series. I think the Capitals take it this time.

Caps in 6 is my guess. Ovi should be in top form this series but the Rangers do have the edge in goaltending.

Pre-emptive thanks too Oilfan81 for the threads. You always do a great job of keeping them updated and detailed, looking forward to another year of that. Decided to give a thanks before the usual new guy comes in and starts a rant about an Oilers fan running this. It's not his fault he was raised cheering for that joke of a franchise.

There's a mixed compliment if I've ever seen one. But I agree props for making these threads.

Caps weren't right last year but this year they are. The Rangers look like a team that's kind of riding things out in hopes of getting a new coach. That said I expect a six or seven game series as the Rangers will grind it out and have the goaltending edge. Capitals in 6.

The Capitals will be one of the hottest teams entering the playoffs in large part because of Ovechkin excelling his game as of late. While the Rangers haven't been terrible lately either. A big reason for New York's early season struggles we're due to their big name players, namely Richards, not showing up. He's turned his game around down this stretch.

In the end, it's the playoffs, I'm going with the better defensive team. The Rangers without Staal (not sure if he'll be ready for the start of the playoffs) have still been excellent defensively, and of course it helps that they have an all world goalie capable of carrying the team. Picking Rangers in 5.

The sportsclubstats graph of washingtons playoff chances is pretty funny. Under 10% in february. Amazing how they played down the stretch

I think Lundquist has a '93 Patrick Roy type performance and carries the Rangers a long way

The Rangers are the dark horse in the East. Didin't live up to expextations in the regular season and i expect them to regain that form in this years playoffs. Rangers in 6 games.
