Pick a player from each team
If you could pick on player to add to the Flames who would it be and why? Every player, prospect is fair game.
Anaheim: Getzlaf. Big #1 centre who is still young enough to be a part of the Flames when they start being competitive again.
Boston: Dougie Hamilton. So many great pieces in Boston but Hamilton would give the Flames a young D man that has huge upside.
Buffalo: Tyler Meyers. Has not been good recently but I still like his upside.
Carolina: Jordan Staal: Great two way player.
Chicago: Johnathan Toews: Franchise C, still young
Colorado: Ugg..tough call. Gotta go with MacKinnon here.
Columbus: Tim Erixon. Just kidding. Going with prospect Ryan Murray.
Dallas: Tyler Seguin. No brainer here.
Detroit: Tough because all their awesome players are old. I will go with Brendan Smith on D
Edmonton: Got to go with Eberle here. He is so clutch.
Florida: Jonathan Huberdeau is the guy here but there are some good ones.
LA: Anze Kopitar. Still young.
Minnesota: Mikael Granlund. Unite the brothers.
Montreal: Carey Price. Franchise goalie.
Nashville: Seth Jones. Big young D man for the future
NJ: Adam Larsson. Another young good D man.
NYI: Tavares. Easily.
NYR: Derek Stepan. Good young centre.
Ottawa: Erik Karlsson. Easy pick
Philly: Claude Giroux: Young and one of the best C's in the NHL.
Phoenix: OEL please.
Pittsburgh: Crosby, duh.
San Jose: I drool at the thought of Logan Couture on the Flames.
St. Louis: I am going Tarasenko. Fills a need at RW.
Tampa Bay: Drouin.
Toronto: Going with Jake Gardiner here.
Vancouver: Nobody, the stench would kill me! Seriously, there is nothing I want there. I remember watching Kassian play in junior and how many stupid penalties he took and just no. I pass.
Washington: Backstrom please!
Winnipeg: Mark Scheifele: I was hoping the Flames would get him at the draft. Big young C who should be a solid #1.

Just one off every team to add to the Flames roster. Not a total team. The player you feel would fit best with the Flames going forward. THat is why I tried to go young.

Anaheim: Corey Perry - Scores and is a pest
Boston: Dougie Hamilton - Huge upside
Buffalo: Tyler Myers - Still loads of potential
Carolina: Jordan Staal - Perfect 3rd line center who can play 2nd line too
Chicago: Patick Kane - All around skill level and entertaining to watch
Colorado: Nathon Mckinnon - Tough call but blazing speed
Columbus: Ryan Murray - Still a wild card but very good prospect
Dallas: Jamie Benn - Size, skill, grit and can play both wing/center
Detroit: Pavel Datsyuk - Kill to see his skills for 1 game in a Flames uni
Edmonton: Jordan Eberle - Clutch
Florida: Jonathan Huberdeau - Big fast skating center with finish
LA: Drew Doughty - Poise, skill, grit and slick skating Dman
Minnesota: Zach Parise - Speedy scoring winger
Montreal: Carey Price - Top 3 goalie IMO
Nashville: Seth Jones - Has all the tools to be franchise Dman
NJ: Adam Larsson - Big dman with potential can play any role
NYI: John Tavaras - Pretty obvious choice
NYR: Ryan Callahan - Very good leader who can play any situation
Ottawa: Erik Karlsson - Best offensive dman
Philly: Claude Giroux - All world skill level
Phoenix: Oliver Ekman Larson - Underrated dman with great hockey IQ
Pittsburgh: Sidney Crosby - Insert any reason possible
San Jose: Logan Couture - Starting to become a star
St. Louis: TJ Oshie - Perfect mix of physicality and skill
Tampa Bay: Steven Stamkos - 50 goal scorer
Toronto: Jake Gardiner - Smooth skating dman
Vancouver: Alex Edler - Only player I can tolerate
Washington: Alex Ovechkin - Despite struggles still a game breaker
Winnipeg: Evander Kane - Young and has good hands

I imagine there will be a lot of same choices but here I go:
Anaheim: Luca Sbisa, homer Lethbridge pick, Getzlaf probably the guy I should say
Boston: Dougie Hamilton, Bergeron a little old/Seguin gone makes this easy
Buffalo: Myers, not a lot here that I want so go with the huge kid that has shown flashes of great defensive play
Carolina: Jordan Staal, tough choice over Skinner but size and overall game
Chicago: Toews, still young enough and so great
Colorado: MacKinnon, him or Duchene but fell in love with Mackinnon hoping Flames would be bad enough to draft him this year
Colombus: Ryan Murray, not flashy but such a solid player that winners always seem to have
Dallas: Benn, close with Seguin but Benn has been impressive lately
Detroit: Datsyuk, not a fan of the young guys so his experience/defense would be a nice addition to a young group
Edmonton: Taylor Hall, I know Eberle is CP's golden boy but Hall is so much better an easy choice over the other dopes the Coilers have
Florida: Hubredeau, great offensive potential
LA: Doughty, young and a top 5 defender in the league
Minnesota: Koivu, another group with not a lot to pick from still youngish
Montreal: Galchenyuk, not a fan of any of them so he is young and wins by default
Nashville:Weber, would have thought there would be younger choices but not a fan of Wilson or Jones, Weber still a top pairing guy for next 10 years
NJ: Yech can I take their top 3 pick next year when the NHL gives it back to them?
NYI: Tavares and nobody else even close or in consideration
NYR: Marc Staal, steady d on a team with not a lot of youth to like
Ottawa: I guess Cowan, not a fan of much on this team maybe Silver but went with Canadian over the filthy yank
Philly: Schenn, seems to have more offense than Couturier but tough choice Giroux just a little older than I would like but another great option
Phoenix: Dave Tippett, not confident in Smith without Tippet and no skater is really that appealing
Pittsburgh: Crosby, of course
SJ: Logan Couture, another easy choice given talent and other options
St. Louis: Pietrangelo, great defenseman and still so young
TB: Stamkos, drouin would make in if on a lot of other teams but hard to go with any one else than Stamkos
Toronto: kadri, many may question his attitude but seems fine in what I have seen with great offensive talent
Vancouver: Horvat, still untainted by Canuck stink and nobody on the roster that I would want
Washington: Backstrom, pure offense would make up for frustrating lack of anything else to his game
Winnipeg: I guess Schiefle by default but another team with not much to like/want
Edit: How did I miss Price?? Oh well will keep Galchenyuk but Price makes sense now that I read other lists

I will justify each pick with a single word.
Anaheim: Cam Fowler. Potential.
Boston: Milan Lucic. Boom.
Buffalo: Tyler Myers. Reach.
Carolina: Eric Staal. Captain.
Columbus: Sergei Bobrovski. Gamble.
Dallas: Jamie Benn. Goals.
Detroit: Pavel Datsyuk. Datsyuk.
Edmonton: Jordan Eberle. Versatility.
Florida: Alexander Barkov. Hart.
Los Angeles. Jonathan Quick. MacDonald.
Minnesota: Jonas Brodin. Expectations.
Montreal: PK Subban. Emerging.
Nashville: Shea Webber. Norris.
New Jersey: Jaromir Jagr. Necromancy.
NYI: John Tavares. Good.
NYR: Ryan McDonagh. Steady.
Ottawa: Eric Karlsson. Because.
Philadelphia: Claude Giroux. Centreman.
Phoenix: Oliver Ekman-Larsson. Awesome.
Pittsburgh: Sydney Crosby. Best.
San Jose: Logan Couture. Adequate.
St Louis: Alex Pietrangelo. Win.
Tampa Bay: Steven Stamkos. One-timer.
Toronto: Phil Kessel. Scorer.
Vancouver: Daniel Sedin. Separation.
Washington: Alex Ovechkin. Whammy.
Winnipeg: Dustin Byfuglien. Buffalo!!

Anaheim: Ryan Getzlaf. Instantly creates size and depth down the centre.
Boston: Dougie Hamilton. Simply a huge and long term presence for the blue line.
Buffalo: Tyler Myers. I think he needs a change of scenery. Still has all the tools available for him to use.
Carolina: Jordan Staal. Flames need big two way centres who win faceoffs. I think Staal hits all the requirements.
Chicago: Johnathan Toews. Basically everything I said about Staal.
Colorado: Gabriel Landeskog. I haven't seen MacKinnon at an NHL level, but Landeskog seems like an all tools player who'd fit in right beside Baertschi. Great leadership qualities as well.
Columbus: Sergei Bobrovsky. I won't call Ramo a #1 yet. Bobrovsky could become a #1 for years to come if he can repeat this year. Despite the risk, that's probably my favourite on their team.
Dallas: Tyler Seguin. Not many options for this other than him or Benn.
Detroit: Petr Mrazek. Everything about him screams "rising star" to me.
Edmonton: Jordan Eberle. Clutch and skill.
Florida: Jonathan Huberdeau. Lots of great options, but I have always loved Huberdeau as a prospect.
LA: Jonathan Quick. Franchise goalie IMO.
Minnesota: Ryan Suter. Parise is great, but the Flames need centres, defence, and a franchise goalie.
Montreal: Carey Price. No brainer for a goalie.
Nashville: Shea Weber. Jones hasn't proven to be a physical threat. Weber's price tag is huge, but he has a good set of tools.
NJ: Adam Larsson. Defence is needed badly and Larsson is a high ceiling player.
NYI: John Tavares. Only reason they made it to the playoffs.
NYR: Ryan McDonagh. Speed, size, and two way presence.
Ottawa: Erik Karlsson. Obvious pick.
Philly: Claude Giroux. Small, but absolutely dynamic offensively.
Phoenix: Oliver Ekman-Larson. If only he was bigger...
Pittsburgh: Sidney Crosby.
San Jose: Logan Couture. Three zone presence who can fit into any of the top three lines.
St. Louis: Alex Pietrangelo. Great player with a possible Norris calibre future.
Tampa Bay: Steven Stamkos. Same reason Crosby was picked.
Toronto: Morgan Reilly. One of the highest raw upsides on their team.
Vancouver: Hunter Shinkaruk. Get them before they hit the system.
Washington: Nicklas Backstrom. Centre with a terrific playmaking ability to feed the opportunistic players on the Flames.
Winnipeg: Jacob Trouba. Seems to be rising in stock.

Pretty much everyone one is going to pick the same players. The only one I'll mention is the one that you all should pick but none of you will: Jerome iginla from Boston. Best captain in the game and there will always be a place for him with the flames.

At least spell his name correctly when saying he is the best captain in the game.
Plus he is not the best captain in the game.
