Gomez/Sabres reach deal.

The Game Player Agencies would like to announce that they have come to terms with the Buffalo Sabres on a 3 year deal for RFA Scott Gomez.

Gomez is set to earn $5 Million for the 2005-06, 2006-07, 2007-08 seasons.

Gomez is one of the up and coming stars of the CPHL/NHL, and is happy the Sabres showed there comitment in him.

"Buffalo is was always my number 1 choice," stated Gomez during the press conference.

Reports indicate that Gomez recieved a RFA offer from another undisclosed team, but was reluctant to sign because of his desire to stay in Buffalo.

Gomez earned $3.2M last season.

The Sabres are happy to welcome Gomez officialy to the fold. He was an important acquistition this summer and is looked to to solidy the 2nd line, he will centre Brendan Morrow and Ruslan Fedotenko

as to the offer sheet, loooooob had this to say "we were aware of its existence. that' s part of the game. did we think about the 5 first rounders? I guess we did , but in this game young players take along time to develop. I could be dead by the time we saw the fruits of that arrangement. we acquired Gomez to play for us now. In the end this deal came in at 500 K more than we budgeted for, but the summertime is too nice to worry about that....even in Buffalo"
