Well, there is no excuse for this team to have this poor of a record, but at the same time, with the injuries, it's unlikely we were going to be top of this division (please don't mention the Yankees with Vernon and Travis carrying them...) Anyway, I think at this point you give them a mulligan and look towards next year -hopefully they will be healthy. If JJ has to go at the deadline for a piece, so be it.
This team has been on semi-contender/rebuild for 20 years, lets just enjoy "should be contender" at this point. After next season, we can blow it all up again.
I would really think about a new manager at the all star break, not really blaming Gibbons, but a new face might work. Where is Cito Gaston these days? He'd be great with a team like this, were likely .500 with him at the helm.
