Default I Know We All Hate the Leafs, but...

I know we all hate the Leafs, and their fans, but this essay almost makes me feel for them. If they weren't such *&^(*^&%&%.

I might feel sorry for their fans, but I think we all know how bad and incredibly insufferable Leafs fans would be right now had they won. It was already starting when I saw more Leafs jerseys and shirts yesterday than I had my previous 13 years living here.

I hate the Leafs. I danced when the Bruins came back and beat them last night. Fun.

Good essay. I know some die hard leafs fans, I can't help but respect them in a way.

Yeah I was much the same as the writer, minus being a Habs fan. Really wanted Boston to win at the start of the series but when the Leafs went up 4-1 midway through the 3rd I thought that was pretty incredible and for the first time in my life, actually wanted the Leafs to win for once.

Have to feel for the fans of that team, no matter how annoying they may be. To be so close to tasting victory for the first time in a decade only to have it all snatched away in a matter of minutes has to be painful, almost as much as being robbed of a cup. Sorry Leafs fans, that sucked.

I didn't read the article it because I had my fill of the Leafs over 20 years ago. There's something about being forcefed something you don't care for all your life that make you builds a deep seeded resentment. I will always hate them with a passion and seeing them and their fans go through the misery simply never gets old.

as unsufferable as Leafs fans can be, they'll be even worse if they ever win the Cup.

Against the Bruins, who nobody outside of Boston could ever love.
This author knows absolutely nothing. After 2010 and the awesomeness that transpired that year, the Bruins are the most likable NHL team not based in the city of Calgary.

Throw the Phaneuf situation on top of that and watching them lose just gets that much better. I honestly tried to cheer against the Bruins so that the Flames would be guaranteed the 21st pick but once the comeback started and you could see the lost, scared look settle into the eyes of the Leaf's players, I couldn't help but cheer for the Bruins to keep going. Seeing Phaneuf struggle defensively or just struggle to stay on his feet while in his own zone were all very satisfying.

Hopefully the Rangers can do what the Leafs couldn't and help out the Flames.

I don't hate the Leafs either.. and have never understood the hate.. maybe I grew up to early or late to understand it?

I hate TRADING with them, but that is different.

I really thought of coming over here with 2 min left in the 3rd to say, "Does anyone else feel like this isn't over?" and of course, it wasn't!

LOVE THESE PICS!

Leafs go up 4-1:

The only bad thing from last nite's choke job is that Canuck fans feel a bit better about themselves.

I actually like the Leafs. Only other team I'd want to see win the cup in Canada. The hatred that my Canuck fan friends have for them has actually driven me to cheer for them.

I only hate the Oilers. Hard to say I even hate the Canucks. Luongo's a pretty nice guy. So is Reimer. The Leafs play a respectable brand of hockey, so you can't hate them, and if you do, it's not for valid reason.

I don't hate the Leafs at all. Only reason I was cheering against them was for the sake of my pool.

I just can't find anything to dislike about them. Them and the Senators are the only Canadian teams I'd cheer for if they weren't playing Pittsburgh of course.

The only certainties in life are: death, taxes, and the Toronto Maple Leafs never winning another Stanley Cup again.
