Default Carraig Ridge - Alberta Foothills Development Getting International Attention

A really cool development is taking shape near Ghost Lake.

Brain-child of local business man Ian MacGregor the project is attracting heavy-hitter architects from across the world. The interiors and the natural vistas are amazing.

So that house is $2 million for 750 sq feet.

Interesting dynamic. Wonder how much pressure there will be on the developer to build bigger houses.

Great location though.

It's nice to see when rich people have taste and take advantage of that opportunity to build something interesting. You know, as opposed to the French Chateau / La Quinta Hotel monstrosity that was being built south of the city.

Wow, gorgeous. I especially like this:

“We want to attract people with an interest in building small and carefully,” he says, “the buildings must support the environment rather than dominate it.”

As a Banff-kid, I am probably more fascist about the environment than most people so I find this important. However, I don't think I could live with absolutely zero curtains at night. Even if no one is around, I still don't like the feeling of being so visible. These windows would be sweet:
