This is going to be awesome.
I want to see what happens when he locks someone in an equipment room....

Guy must really want to coach again and probably thinks this will land him a future job in NHL.

I don't think he ever wanted to stop coaching in the NHL.
And he's doing whatever it takes to get back there.
Good for him. I hope it works out.

I really don't think he was that bad of a coach... If it weren't for injuries to our entire blue line that year we would have done some damage in the playoffs. Didn't we take Chicago to 6 with our AHL blue line? I think Phaneuf played through a broken rib as well

The Iron Mike that we knew and loved is dead and buried, partially by the amount of power and guaranteed contracts that the millionaire players have, partly because he just went soft.
He's never going to coach in the NHL again, he's burned to many bridges.
This is the equivalent of a rocking chair tour, he'll stand behind the bench and glower, sign some autographs kiss some babies and utterly refuse to practice the powerplay.

The goalies better get comfortable with the idea of getting pulled often if they are losing.

He was good at running the bench and tapping out his star players. As far as tactics, practice, discipline he was one of the worst coaches you could ask for.

He was a terrible coach and the injuries that year were merely an excuse for a poorly prepared team. IMO.

If anything becomes of his "Kipper contract" comment, he better stay in Russia for the rest of his liffe.

Creepy. Did the camera have to do fourteen 360's around him before he started speaking? (I guess the Russians do love revolutions. Snap!).

...Where was Hartley's foreboding smoke-machine intro video when he arrived in Calgary?
