How much flak are you taking as a Flames fan?
Just wondering how much flak everyone is getting as a Flames fan for the team?
Today someone I know; an Oiler fan, insisted the Flames would suck for ten years. I tried pointing out the logic that if they sucked for that long they'd have a wealth of top draft picks and why wouldn't they be able to turn the corner after 5ish years as the oilers had done.
I'm finding a lot of rhetoric out there against the Flames and a lot of it is overblown. How about you?

Quite a bit here in Vancouver. I have, however, become impervious to their garbage and instead ruthlessly troll them. It's too easy.

Barely any. One of my friends still thought we had Leopold and Phaneuf so that shows how much they follow hockey.

There really isn't any point arguing with an Oiler fan who has drank so much of the kool-aid their eyes are floating.
Seriously, the stupidity of the rebuttals that spew from Oilaz faithful makes my head hurt. I just laugh it off how bad the Flames are this year and move on, not worth my time

None. Hockey is not that popular among my friends, and the two guys that are really into it are fans of the Sabres and the Avs ... so no danger there right now

since when did the Oilers turn the corner? Flames are in 14th and the Oilers are in 12th, you can tell your friend to STFU and that the Oilers built a small team and are capped out with their current roster

I'm from the East coast with 90% of friends Habs fans. Only Calgary related thing they know is Bourque came from Calgary.

Yup, up here in Coilers country I've definitely been hearing it, especially after that 8-2 embarrassment that also got them a temporary playoff spot...funny how they've gone quiet since Oilers went 0-4 since getting into 8th, tumbling down the ladder.
