Tough luck for the kid this season.

Really had a shot to prove himself, and gets his hand broken 2 minutes into his first game.

Will probably need some time to get back up to speed, if so, hopefully he has a good summer, and turns some heads in camp.

There's a chance he'll be playing tonight against the Marlies.

Did Byron get paid NHL salary for the 2 months he was out?

If so then he probably made more in the last 2 months than he would have in 2 full seasons in the AHL. I could be way off because i don't know his contract.

I believe if you get injured while you're called up you get paid NHL salary.

Tough break for Byron. Id like to see him get a chance to start next year with the Flames. It is a different era, and he may have a better chance to fit in.

Sucks for anyone to get injured but i'm still not a fan of Byron.

I *kinda* like Byron. Hes shown some flashes of being an offensive threat, and has great speed... We need speed and offensive flair. I hope he matures quickly and can be a part of our rebuild.

He's also one of the nicest guys you'll meet! I wish him the best going forward.

Close your eyes and say my name and I'll take you far away. To a place where you and I can be.. without everyone to say, na na na na na na.. and I'll take you far away.

Def agree, he's been a bit looked over given the changeover of young players coming thru the system, but he'll be a NHLer IMO.

I think Byron is decent, but he needs to get a LOT bigger. If you watch the video from the start of the season where they pan around the dressing room with the players introducing themselves, Byron looks like a Jr. High kid beside everyone else.

He's 24, so not sure how much maturing he has left. Much like Backlund, it's sort of now or never.

Hope he gets his shot.

I really thought/hoped that Byron can turn into the next Fleury or St. Louis, let's see if he can still make it happen....
