Default Dreger: Kiprusoff to not move, retire at end of the season

As per Darren Dreger on Tradecentre.

Kiprusoff won't be traded today, and he will retire at the end of the season.

Bad news for the future of the Flames. I guess some people will be happy that he'll retire a Flame but it's bad for the actual franchise and that's who I'm a fan of

Pretty much what one would expect for a guy who's put family before hockey.

Retire now then...seriously.

And I don't mean that as a knock against Kipper. He clearly has some family matters that he wants to attend to and he has just has not looked as focused this season.

Would rather they go with MacDonald/Taylor to end the season and gauge if they want to resign either for next year.

Unchanged I think. If he's retiring next year, they're still looking for a goalie that's played in the NHL. (might stick with MacDonald, but I bet they grab someone else between now & camp)

Really not seeing how that makes the Flames a better team, so how about no?

They weren't going to get anything of substance out of him anyway. Unlikely even if he agreed to a move, he would have had a handshake agreement to re-sign.

At least now he gets to play out his career and retire a Flame, and he doesn't have to leave on the heels of that poor performance on Monday.

Respect the decision. Kipper deserves to have that choice.
