Default Conference call alternatives

Can anyone recommend a reliable (and preferably free) conferencing tool for North American based conferences (US & Can)? Have been using Skype lately and besides being paranoid about gates recording everything, the thing drops connections all the time.

Not opposed to good pay for service options but the reliability must be 100% and the connection secure if that is the only alternative.

We use AT&T Teleconference and the only issues we have are a result of operator error. Unfortunately not free like you are looking for, not sure on what it costs (not privy to that info).

We use Gotomeeting.
Never had any problems.

Not sure about the cost details though

I've been doing long monthly Skype meetings for years with multiple members and have never had one dropped call yet.

Can you make sure everyone on your call has a hard line connection? Won't make a secure connection, but should be about 99% reliable.

I use GoToMeeting as well and have had no problems with it.
I signed up for the free trial and then told them I wanted to cancel so they offered me half price rates.

We were using a similar service at first and it was $100 per call.

Yeah, I don't usually have a problem with it myself, it is my colleagues that are looking for an alternative as they generally do not like the reliability of skype. It's dropped a few times for us, though - only a group of 4 as well, voice only.

Usually, yes, but not always. Sometimes one member is on satelite internet and others will be accessing skype via their smartphones. Technology is fricken amazing... seriously.
