Default Expect Feaster to trade one of 1st round picks?

If Feaster isn't fired by draft day, I think there's a real chance that Feaster will trade one of his 1st round picks. Feaster has said that he doesn't believe in a scorched earth rebuild. Everything he has done in the past month has indicated that the rebuild is scorched-earth-like. So what does that mean? Feaster has no credibility? Feaster is going to field a team that he knows will be years from competing?

No offence, but is this really worth a thread?

I'm pretty sure if Feaster's mind hasn't changed since then, ownership has changed it for him.

I'm fine with shipping out the Pitts/STL pick if it's for a young guy with the same potential as someone they could draft at that position, because it would accellerate the rebuild.

package 15 and 30 to move into, say the top 8 would be reasonable

With respect, nothing that has been done in the past month indicates the rebuild is "scorched earth like". We dealt a player on an expiring contract and a player with a huge cost playing well.

If we start dumping everybody - Glencross, Giordano, Cammalleri, Tanguay, etc., for picks and prospects, THAT is scorched earth.

If you really want to worry about Feaster's plans, then consider his comments after trading Bouwmeester. He stated a major benefit of the two trades we did make is how much cap space it gives us. He argued that was highly valuable, and that indicates that he may be planning to take a major run at somebody in the off-season.

I actually am hoping that Feaster gets aggressive and finds a way to get two picks in the top 4. That is what I would do if i were in his place.

package up the pitt/stl pick plus a good roster player and maybe even a decent prospect and get 1 of Jones/Mackinnon and then grab one more of Drouin/Barkov/Monahan.

worked out pretty damn well when Burke did it with the Canucks.

Kulikov is someone I'd be willing to trade the Pitts/StLouis 1st for. As long as ours isn't on the table, and a young player with significant upside is the return I have no problem with that.

I really dont get how people think Feaster will be fired before draft day. The city has been begging for a re build for that past couple months and now that its happening everyone wants his head. Dont understand at all.

I will say that if the Flames are not getting 1st overall by "merit," they will trade the Pittsburgh 1st and their own 1st for #1 overall.
