Komisarek on Waivers. Also Boychuk for the 3rd time.
As per Dreger. Wow was he ever a UFA bust.

I thought he was a solid player for Montreal. Any clues as to why his play dropped off so steeply? Injuries?

Was wondering the same so I checked some of the comments on TSN, this quote stood out to me:
"As a Habs fan, I really liked him when he first broke into the league. He was a stud on defence until he lost a big fight with Lucic. He just wasn't quite the same after that. He seemed to lose his swagger, which was important to him in some way."
Then something happened where the Habs let him go UFA. Despite a higher offer I gather he chose Toronto. But it seems like he couldn't relish the spotlight in Toronto - a city that has a tendency of chewing players up that have confidence issues. Factor in his high price tag and its all she wrote.
For some reason Phaneuf's name seems to apply to some of the above for me as well. The swagger part for sure...

He was an overrated player that benefited immensely from playing with Markov. Not much else to see here.

I remember that fight quite well.... Lucic really gave Komi a big beat done.

His contract will probally prevent him from being picked up but he could help out alot of teams looking for a stay at home physical Dman and Im sure he has somthing to prove after sitting for the season.

Can't see any way some team takes on that contract - risk just isn't worth it.

I'd say that they both suck, but if I said that Feaster would probably pick them both up

Well, Boychuk is a center. At least he was in the WHL.

moon watched him regularly when he was the Lethbridge Hurricanes, and says he didn't play center at all.

Funny, I remember Zack Boychuk at the WJC and he was a guy that I was certain would be an NHLer. It's amazing how big the jump is to the NHL sometimes.

Boychuk has put up some decent number in the AHL, he just can't get over the hump for some reason.
He looked pretty tentative in the game against the Flames, his confidence appears really low.

Fair enough.
I went to the odd game back then as well, and I remember him playing on a line with Mitch Fadden, couldn't remember if he was center or not though.
Still, I don't think he's played much center since turning pro.

Ol' Yellow Teeth Fadden was the centre. Boychuk played the wing all through junior and during has many brief NHL stints

I thought Boychuk had some jump against us. I'd be interested in swapping one of our struggling or surplus prospects for him so he could boost the Heat's playoff chances. Maybe Nemisz, Irving or Carson gets the job done?
