Season tickets renewals
Has anyone heard when they are coming out? Usually the first payment is due March 15th.
I emailed my rep last week, but all she would say is that it would be sometime in the next few weeks.
I'm just curious if anyone has receved anything more definite?
Thanks,
Sec218

I only just got a letter calculating how much money I'd overpaid this week. Probably they were working on that and haven't got around to the renewals yet. I'd expect it pretty soon, since they'll want to charge for some/most of the playoffs at first, so they can get more of their money upfront. If they wait too long and miss the playoffs again, there could be only one payment at the higher amount.

I received my overpayment letter but did not see the mentioned interest that was promised by the organization. Am I the only one wondering about this or did I miss something?
Thanks in advance.

Are you anxious to give the flames more money today for a product that you will not see for another seven months?

It wasn't a line item; probably because some people wouldn't have been happy about how little it worked out to be. I think I earned about $6.
As for the renewals; keep in mind that we usually get them with 3 weeks left in the season. So that puts it into April this year.

It will be insulting if they ask us to pay for 16 playoff games this year.

If they do it with 3 weeks left in the season it might be mathematically impossible for them to have a home playoff seed in the first round, in which case they better not.

They've done it before.... I'm sure they'll do it again.

Given that this season the STHs are all over the map with respect to who still owes, who is paid in full, and who has credits; I would fully expect them to include a package that includes playoffs as part of the renewal.
Keep in mind, you always have the option to release your playoff tickets for any given year without losing your next year's regular season tickets. So if you are that confident with 3 weeks left that the Flames won't make it; choose that option. If you aren't that confident, don't blame the Flames for also covering their bases.

Can't even sell the Detroit game, wtf!
Most family members i have to drag out to Flames games now.
No real point renewing if its just becoming a money pit now. I don't really want to but i'm not going to have a choice.

Interesting, I don't recall seeing that option in the past, but may have missed it. I would only do it if it was mathematically impossible for them to make the playoffs, which is pretty unlikely.
I think what's more likely is it being mathematically impossible for them to have a top 4 finish, in which case you really shouldn't charge for 4 home games in the first round. That may be too much math for them.

This is when seasons will become more available. It won't be because of the lockout (directly, anyway) if STHs can't get rid of games they can't go to, many will cancel, shades of 1999

Stop with the woah is me attitude. You are acting like you are being forced to be a STH. Tickets are always an outflow of cash, whether the team is winning or losing. You always have a choice if you want to renew your tickets for another season or release them to someone else.
If you are unhappy with the direction of the team, and you don't want to pay for tickets anymore, that is fine. I don't blame you one bit. I might be doing the same. I'm incredibly frustrated by what has gone on and what the future might hold. Just don't say you are being forced.
Whether I renew or not, I will always being cheering for the Flames. I hope they turn around this season, and I hope they return to the glory days once again.

True- but remember the 2006 playoffs where in the 2nd round the 5th and 6th place teams had home ice advantage. Then in the 3rd round the 7th place team had home ice. (I think that's what happened- going off memory.)
There was also talk after the Columbine incident that Colorado might have to surrender home ice advantage. As it turned out they just changed the order of the games.
My point here is that with so many variables in play- it is easier to just charge for the maximum potential games and refund for what isn't played. A couple of years ago I went to an April game in Tampa and they had their "pay as we play" announcements. It seemed quite complicated for what it was really worth.
