Hey Andrew............

Although I appreciate what you're doing (and I have signed myself), in the future, this might be better served in the Off-Topic forum.

Good luck next year, and way to beat the tar out of Stillman last June!!!!

But if it is him then that makes the thread 'flames related'. [/b][/quote]
Ah, yes...........fair enough fotze.

Good call.

Plus, like you said, his wife is cute. So that should give him some sort of exemption.

You are my hero - well not because you made the NHL - which is impressive mind you - that is if you are who others think you are - but rather because you are able to call yourself a player. You and Jordon are the only two.

For what its worth, in the "Is this Ference or not?" debate...He WAS a fairly regular poster on the Pittsburgh Penguins official message board--confirmed by the board's administrator that it was indeed him--for some time, during the first year or so of his stay here in Pittsburgh.

Editing to add:

And, if this is in fact, Andy--as I heard from a friend working for the Winterhawks--you are a new daddy! Congratulations!

Andrew...thanks for providing one of the few 'voices of reason' out of the NHLPA camp during this farce. Looking forward to opening night.

I'm having difficulty believing it's Andy himself. The guy has a monicker "Okotoker", yet the article he links to says Ference lives in Canmore? Anyone want to clarify this for me?

Well, if that was Andy, then we sure did a great job ensuring he never posts again.

That is exactly what i was thinking.

If people would lay off when media and players come by they would probably come by a lot more often. Just let them post and treat them as a fellow member.

And to Andrew Ference (or whomever), if that is you, if you ever do decide to post on an issue there are many of us that will defend your right to do so as a calgarypuck member first and a player second - if that helps at all...

To tell you the truth it was like that and will be like that whenever someone posts, but as you saw with Roger, after the first couple times people stopped ambushing him with questions all the time.

So we just have to wait until the luster wears off, let people say what they want to say, ask what they want to ask. Then we are good to go. Or at least it seems that way.

Not sure who this is directed at, but since I was one of the first ones to respond in this thread, perhaps you're talking about me among others?

For the record, I saw fotze's post and assumed he was joking that it was Ference.

I wasn't trying to ambush the guy or be a jerk.

I think a player has to be a lot more careful about getting into immature p*ssing matches on the internet then the average joe. It has nothing to with being intimidated.

Likewise, a board that allows a player to post without responding to it by being rude or harrassing them is obviously a far more inviting place then a board full of 18 year old ******* who are so jealous and in need of attention that they drive that same player away to feed some pathetic inner ego.

There was no outright intent on being secretive or what have you, just wanted my message to carry more weight than who wrote it. Thanks to those who went and signed up, sorry about posting in the hockey board, just wanted maximum exposure... You all are a fun read and it is good to hear your opinions over the last while. Thanks again.

I was just speaking generally Fotze, not to you specifically.

I am always impressed by how active and well thought out the hockey talk is on this board and wish the players, executives, and media that i know read it would/could post without fear of being baited into saying something they should not, being outright harrassed/insulted, or being swamped with questions the first time they peak their heads out, alla Ken King.

Why 'Okotoker' though? lol...

Plus i thought Ference lived in one of those condos along the river. Maybe he moved to Okotoks? lol... now i sound like a stalker. It is scary the amount and breadth of stuff you learn on this site. :P

I know what you mean, but still what do we do here? We listen to posts and respond to them and that's about it on basic level. So someone with a big name, so to speak, pops their head in, most want to get their views as theirs are even closer to the source. I mean people who pop their head in usually know there's a fair number of members and posters any of which have the potential to respond. I guess there must be a way around this, perhaps some rules or something, though hard to enforce with a drop in.
I don't know I just think "Ken King was harrassed" is a bit harsh. It's not like posters all got together and conspired to bombard the hell out of him it was all individuals.

He was not harrassed directly but the 120 posts in <10 minutes essentially paralized him. It seems it would be best if players, media, and exec's posted for a while before slowly letting on who they are....

That's a really good idea. Heck, it may already be happening.

When media guys like Millions posts, it just adds to the legitimacy of CP as the one true source of all that is Flames. Having a player or two wouldn't hurt either. Welcome aboard to anyone who wishes to join.
