Weird Request - Average anticipated pickup life in oilsands
Like the title says, I've got a weird request for a project I'm working on. Do any of you smart people have a document or a website showing the average anticipated working lifetime of a heavy duty pickup truck (think F-350 size) in oilsand mines?
Unfortunately, I need more than anecdotal evidence (which I've got a lot of) if possible.
Thanks

If anyone would have it publically available it would be CAPP. You can even contact them at communication@capp.ca or 403-267-1100 with requests for information.

Do you need to factor in fix or repair daily into the equation?

No, I'm just looking for the expected usable lifetime of a truck within those environments. The big loaders are ~3 years, but I'm not sure if it's a similar number for smaller trucks.

When I worked in the oil sands I picked up an average of 2 girls a week, but they were usually only a 3 or 4 on scale of 1-10.

I would figure it's as long as the lease, then it's auctioned off and resold in Calgary to some poor sap.

Of course, otherwise they wouldn't bother. It was a joke about the condition of some of those trucks coming back after they've driven like they've been stolen.

I can tell you that a corporate policy is to mile out the trucks at 140000 kms. But I have seen no real studies. I considered doing one in house but never got that far and then things picked up again and it didn't seem important.
