Scrapper.....an answer to the McGrattan acquisition and adds a lot of grit to a small team.

He is a 4th liner that adds grit to their bottom 6.

Pointless trade. 4.5 minute per game player in Toronto. Waste of a roster spot, watch them dump Paajarvi to the minors now. Pointless.

He's been in the minors for a few weeks or so now.

As long as they keep playing the way they are they will have first crack at the waiver wire for some time to come and not have to worry about teams below making claims

So Feaster gets slagged for slipping a 5th for a goon last year but now the Oilers lose a 4th for a guy who makes Eager and Hordichuk redundant.

Kind of funny how many believe todays NHL has moved past the heavyweight era, but as soon as one team moves for one, their 2 closest rivals respond in kind immediately.

Stupid oilers. They had a period where they took no shots, now they get a guy who takes lots of shots to the head. Stupid oilers

Disagree completely...he brings an element that the Oilers severely lack.

Does he take shots on net? Because if so I agree.

Oilers needed a player like him just as bad as the flames needed McGrattan. 4th round pick seems rather high?

Its trades like this that make me think the flames could get some really good draft picks if they were sellers near the deadline. On the other hand the Oilers probably over payed for Brown by a couple of rounds and other teams are not that stupid.

it's funny how small teams are trying to solve their toughness issues by going out and ramping up the 4th line.

watch the good/successful teams, many of htem have guys who are abrasive and involved in all the post-whistle scrums on their top lines.

loading up small/skill guys in the top 6 (or top 9 in CGY's case) and bolstering the 4th line isn't a recipe for greatness. AB teams are a testament to that this year.

Brown is a scrappy guy that plays like Eager. Lots of speed and finishes every check. He'll drop the gloves when needed but he's not as tough as Eager. With that being said, he doesn't take as much dumb penalties as Eager.

Brown is more of a crash and banger, then a pure fighter. I think it was a good pick-up for Edmonton.

James Mirtle ‏@mirtle Apparently the pick for Brown is also conditional.

He makes room for others to do that.....understand that not every guy on your team needs to be an offensive dynamo.
