Good write up, these Game Takes are the pretty much the only thing I read on Calgarypuck nowadays. The PGTs are just too much emotion for me to handle. I find these fairly balanced and a bit of a breath of fresh air.
Having said that, that was was a hard game to watch. I knew the Avs were gonna take the game. The Flames never, ever win battles along the boards. The puck always ends up on the stick of the opposition. The Flames certainly have the ability to capitalize on rushes from turnovers, but when it comes to winning battles, the Flames are seriously lacking. I noticed this a lot tonight and also against the Wild.
That Avs tying goal, I think it was Stastny, that was a juicy rebound on a soft wrist shot fromm the blue line that McDonald needs to be better on. Also that Landeskog goal right at the beginning of the third needs to be stopped. However the Flames were outmatched in the second and third period so I can't blame Joey for the loss.

Good writeup, but just a correction. This wasn't Landeskog's first game back after injury.

The Flames have a serious mojo issue, they simply can’t regroup and push back. When the game is dictated by their battle plan without interruption they are fine, they look confident and skilled. But should that plan meet any kind of salvo from the opposition they seem to be without answers.
Yup...mojo has left the building!

Mojo to me just sounds like "luck". They haven't had any pushback for years on end. They are either playing well or they aren't. Plus if they are in a game where they are challenged either by the tempo or physicality of the other team they fold like cheap tents. They do not possess character.

A 3 goal lead is said to be the worse lead in hockey and with the Flames that definitely seems to be true. I was just watching to see the inevitable happen.

The exact same thing went through my mind when they went up 3-0. I thought we were going to be ok when they went up 4-2, but alas.......

Yep....up by 3 and all I could say was Balls......now watch the Avs mount a helluva comeback that'll go uncontested by the Flames.
When I looked at the bench it was sunshine lollipops backslapping .......Hartley looked terrified and I thought to myself " I recognize that look" the look of terror.
this marriage Hartley refers to hopefully ends in more than a trial seperation.....I hope he gets to keep the house and the players are kicking their luggage down the street because last night was a monumental epic and abysmal failure on the players part.

Disspointed.
But at the same time, I feel we have done well very recently. I would like the Flames to progress to be a 0.750, but i feel there are some elements we certainly have to work on.

Actually, a two-goal lead is said to be the worst lead in hockey.
That said, it really doesn't seem to matter how many goals the Flames are ahead, every lead is precarious at best.
