Default Simon Gagne To Philly for 4th Round Pick
The Flyers have acquired LW Simon Gagne from Los Angeles for a conditional 4th round draft pick, previously acquired from Phoenix.

Third-round pick if Flyers make the playoffs. Fourth if they do not.

Flyers attempting to be the 1st team to spend every cent of cap space?

11.5 million the next two years to Pronger and Briere hurts... not to mention two more years of Pronger at $5 million after that.

The bigger question is right now what is the condition on the fourth round pick?

Turns into a fifth if he gets concussed again?

He's been a healthy scratch for most of the season. Good return for LA.

Edit. Only the last 3 games he's been a healthy scratch.

He was pretty awesome back before the injury problems. I forgot he was still in the league.

I love how EA made this guy an 86 OVR in NHL 13. While actual top line players are rated worse.

But anyway, now I can bust out my Philly Gagne jersey from 2003!

Kings clear $3.5 in cap space. Gagne is a UFA at the end of the season.

But Pronger is on LTIR, so they can go over that cap space. Philly has the money to do what they want.

Not a bad move. This season is short. At the deadline, a player like Gagne goes for more than a 4th. Good depth move.
