They are VERY reliable for bending you over for brokerage fees though.
Might as well undo your belt while you wait for them.

They deliver as late as 7 PM in my experience.
Which always a bad experience. Use Purolator, Canada Post, or FedEx anytime over UPS.
Blech.

Residential they do. They usually leave it by your door if nobody answers the door. Just hate the run-around.... I am okay with it if they tell me it won't happen today because the delivery guy got stuck in traffic in the NW. No big deal but giving all the run around saying I will contact Dispatch to find out then telling me they will give me a confirmation call within an hour after telling him i am willing to stick around for another 1/2 hour is just plain stupid.

It's the best when they're late, and you finally leave, and they leave your $500-$600 piece of tech sitting outside your door in the snow, no signature, no nothin'. Love it when they do that.

Last week they wouldn't leave a $30 fan controller on my step.
I left 15 minutes before they showed up at 4:30.

When I ordered my $1000 worth of computer parts they just left it with the neighbour. I was shocked! We get along and are friends but what if it was one of those neighbour relationships where we hate each other? They are terrible for stuff like that and I do everything I can to avoid them even if it means spending more on shipping. And broker fees...don't even get me started on their fees.

Been waiting and it is now almost 5:30pm and package still not here. I called Customer Service an hour ago and i was told it will be at our site by 5pm. I don't understand how unreliable these guys are. Most businesses shuts down at 5pm. It's ridiculous that i have to wait a lot longer and i am not even sure if it will come or not. I guess next time we order something from any company online we'll refuse to buy if they use UPS as their means of delivering packages. We never have any problem with Fedex or Purolator because they always come on time.

I've a similar situation. I waited for 2 weeks until I got my package. I had the Delivery notice on Jan 21 and i never got it till almost the end of Jan. Supposely the driver had it in her/his truck the whole time and forgot to leave it at the post office.
The funny part is.. I was home all day on the 21st, yet I didn't hear or see a UPS truck at my house.

Ordered 300 dollars worth of textbooks off them from Amazon. I asked for the next day delivery, next day...nothing there. Okay, maybe something went wrong. Next day after....nothing there. I check the tracking number and it states that it doesn't exist...weird. About three weeks later, the tracking number magically shows up and states that my package was shipped and delivered to my door three weeks earlier. It would've been quite the large box, so it's not like I would've missed it if they just dropped it off at my door.
I phone UPS customer service and they basically give me the run around before finally telling me that I have to call Amazon because UPS never does anything wrong. Thankfully Amazon is incredibly helpful, replaced my package and had it to me the next day.
Seriously, they are so freakin' bad that I assume that their interview process is basically to hire the biggest, least reliable stoners, and they simply ask them "Hey dude...you like free stuff man?".
EDIT: Figured I should mention that I got crazy busy during those three weeks and didn't really need the textbooks at the time (thankfully).

They got a toy from one part of the world to a completely different part of the world in one day, alongside tens of thousands of other items......definitely something to be uber-pissed about. It's an iPhone, not life saving medicine, relax.

I receive things on average 2-3 items from Amazon a week using UPS in the states, and I can only think of once in 2-3 years it did not come on the day they said. Often when I order using the free 2 day shipping, it comes the next day. I do like that they always leave at my door and never require signature. I am sure one of UPS, Amazon, or Visa would eat the cost if something happened to be stolen from the porch, but never had to test that.

If he had used a medicine courier service and asked them to also send an iPhone; you might have a point. However they have one job; get items from one place to another within the time frame promised.
I also wouldn't call another part of North America "a completely different part of the world." I would doubt that Apple would be so inefficient that they would keep all their iPhones in China and ship them one by one.

In all seriousness, I was pleasantly surprised with my last UPS experience. Sure, I had to pay brokerage fees, but I expected that. $30 on $350 worth of electronics didn't seem so bad. My package was supposed to be delivered in 1-3 days. On the third day I got it at 7:30 PM, which surprised me in a good way.
Contrast this to when I used DHL at Christmas, the tracking was all messed up, they wouldn't let me pay brokerage fees over the phone and leave the package at my door. I had to spend 1h30m of my time driving up to the airport to pick it up. When you pay $50 for delivery I kind of think delivery should be included.
