Fan Offerings For the Flames?
Word is starting to come out about offerings from NHL teams to there fans to show them a bit of appreciation after this mess some examples include:
Sabres - 50% discount on all merchandise in the Sabres Store at First Niagara Center.
Penguins - Free pop + food at first 4 home games to fans
Nashville - Buy home opener tickets get a 2nd home game for free
Do you think the Flames will do anything like this or just treat us to none playoff hockey and overprices heroin beer like any other night at the Dome?

I don't care about cheap gimmicks. I care about the product on the ice. The lockout happened, it was two sides in a complex labour negotiation, get over it.

The NHL and the PA should have agreed to play one exhibition game prior to the start of the season and given that free of charge. It should have been a no-brainer. A warmup game for the players and a thank you to the fans including giveaways etc. They even would have made money from concessions for pete's sake.

I would like to offer the Flames my Econ 201 Microeconomics text book so that when the next time the CBA comes out they have a clue.

I don't know what people want the NHL to do. The lockout happened, it happens in all the sports, work stoppages happens all across. Like I've said before, when Safeway workers go on strike, do we get something from them? Nope, and I don't expect anything from the Flames, other then having a entertaining product, and not that dreadful Sutter hockey.

When you go out for dinner and your meal arrives 113 minutes late, does anything happen?

If my meal was 113 minutes late, I would have been gone 30 minutes in.
Unless the lockout cost you income, I don't see why everyone is so up in arms. What happened, happened. You move on and forward.

I'll also add that Safeway had discounts, sales and customer appreciation initiatives post-strike too to try to draw customers back.

I would tell them I give and I give and I give, and they take and take and take.

But you leave without being upset? The Flames can make the business decision as to what they want to do to entice fans to return. I personally think they are close to seeing a significant drop in STH if the product does not improve. Calgary is a notoriously poor sports town, it is not that long ago that the Flames had 8700 STH.

I'd rather they follow the Kings' lead and do something like this, rather than give me some cheap crap:
Quote:
Helene Elliott @helenenothelen
Kings announce $1million donation to 4 local charities to recognize community's patience and support
