Well I guess that's the end of that then. Pretty unfair in my opinion. Danny Taylor and Joey MacDonald, we're doomed haha.

Irving and MacDonald were both shaky last night, so it doesn't hurt to have another option in case MacDonald has another bad performance tomorrow.

He's not ready to be an NHL goaltender. He's coming up on 25 years old say there is still time but right now, not ready.

Guys, let's be honest, Taylor deserves a chance at a couple games. He's done very well with the Heat this year.

I realize some want to see Irving progress, be given opportunities in the NHL because he's still technically a prospect, a former first round pick, but until the Flames are out of it, they have to put the best goaltender in the net.

Yes. The team sucks so they are shuffling chairs. The boat will still sink but at least Feaster can put enough hours on his time sheet.

This had to be done. They were saying positive things about him in the media, but I'm almost sure they were seriously questioning his ability to succeed in the NHL. Taylor has earned the right to at least get a chance in the NHL.

This is the perfect example of "meritocracy" that everyone is so anxious to see this team use more.

I would hope that Taylor is just up here to open the gate and if Kipper is out long term and they need someone to start that Irving is back up and Taylor sent back down.

If things continue going this way someone on cp is going to go on a rampage.. The team is pulling at straws right now on what to do it seems

MacDonald has the higher ratio of spectacular saves to bad goals.

I think, just like this team, being more 'uptemp' isn't going to make the games any better, but maybe more 'exciting'.

I understand this move.

I just hope that Irving gets some games down there. I haven't totally given up on him, but time is running out.

I agree. But lets also be honest. If I was to tell you at the beginning of the season that we would have Joey MacDonald and Danny Taylor as our goalies people would be panicked.

It is time for some intellectual honesty. MacDonald and Taylor are your goalies. Kipper wasn't playing well before he got injured. Comeau is on your top line. The team is 14 in the West. We are playing the soft part of our schedule, usually against teams playing their back-ups. Iginla hasn't been great. The list goes on and on and on.

If your not willing to throw in the towel at this point then your not being intellectual or honest.

PS. Not speaking of you obviously. Just the Flames situation.

the goalies have about two weeks to audition for the backup spot; Irving has had 5 games; Macdonald, and possibly even Taylor will get some starts in, then it's best man standing
