Anyone follow NYI much that can shed some light at how he scored 24(or however many) that season?

To his credit, he is fast and he does hit. He is a decent forechecker. He just doesn't provide much of anything else I think. If he can't score, he needs to start scrapping or find something else. I just wonder how NYI utilized him (or perhaps, who kept setting him up so perfectly).

Garbage a disgrace to the Flames jersey.
If anyone puchased a Comeau jersey they would have to be complety high on meth and cough syrup.

I don't think he would even be on the team right now if Bouma were healthy.

Agreed.... not sure what keeps Comeau on this team. Maybe its a pride issue with sending him down. They obviously know something us fans don't.

It really puzzles me how the coaches keep using him. He just doesn't bring anything to the team that can't be done by another player. More times than not he's killing plays or flubs up chances he gets. He's just not a NHL quality player.

Must have some serious blackmail or something. That's the only logical reason.

Would rather see a Reinhart or Ferland in his spot to be honest. No chance he should be on the team next season.

I believe it is Feaster refusing to admit: 1. That picking him up on waivers was a bad idea 2. That re-signing him was an even worse idea.

I totally get the feeling that if he was a Sutter signing Comeau would be long gone.

Maybe its the organizations refusal to admit and be accountable that they made a mistake with Comeau 5 times.

1 Picking him up on waivers.
2 Not puting him back on waivers.
3 Not letting him go in the offseason when Feaster had the chance to be rid of the boat anchor.
4 Resigning him for another year.
5 Hartley Not benching him.

When i saw Comeau was playing with Tanguay and Hudler, I was stunned. Perhaps Cervenka was benched right there.

Comeau has some dirt on Feaster... I can't prove it but trust me this is the case.

Comeau played 19 shifts too many.

He had the likes of Tavares, Moulson, Martin, Parenteau... who does he have in Calgary that I have listed that are young and skilled besides an injury prone Backlund? Nobody.... Through, he may have been at the right spot at the right time.

Scouting Report
Assets: Can be a streaky goal-scorer who can help carry his club for a while, thanks mainly to a very good shot and offensive know-how. Can also play either wing position. Owns good size. Flaws: Must find a level of consistency in all facets of the game in order to continue to earn an NHL paycheck. Can disappear for stretches. Doesn't shoot enough and/or play as physical as he should. Career Potential: Inconsistent scoring winger.
Comeau is a lesser version of Glencross/Stempniak, at the time I thought it was a great pick up by the Flames as he COULD help the Flames scoring needs. I believe that Brent Sutter basically put it in his head that its defense first and worry about your goals later.

IMO, the Isles gave up on him a little too earlier within 24 games. He needs to start playing like Holmstrom and get his goals that way. he definitely needs to be more physical when it comes to being around the net.

Every team has a player that makes the fans pull their hair out, Comeau is ours.

Comeau is very far down the list of the Flames' problems.

The fact that he is always in scoring position is that reason. He is snake bitten and has no talent whatsoever to score goals but the guy gets his ass into the dirty areas and stands in front of the net. If he were making half what he is now, nobody would uttter a word at his performance so far.

Im in the extreme minority, but I think he has deserved every ounce of icetime he has gotten. Jackman should be the much, much bigger target as 'whipping boy' this year.
