Default Save Dutch the Service Dog from Death [Read entire thread before signing petition]

A service dog owned by a disabled veteran was beaten by a woman (allegedly) first with her hands, then with a metal pole...THEN the dog bit her

Now the dog is facing euthanization...

If you'd like to add your signature to the petition or learn more go here

Thanks in advance to all

this is a bit rediculous. Obviously, the dog was experiencing distress and was actually close enough to retaliate for the first time. This is unneccessary tax payer money going down the toilet.

It isn't alleged if the offending party has admitted it in court. The woman should be cited for being too stupid to live and executed by a court officer.

I was wondering what local media had been saying about this and got this update at the Montrose Daily Press:

Posted: Friday, February 8, 2013 11:20 am | Updated: 11:26 am, Fri Feb 8, 2013. Dog story probed0 comments
The Daily Press has received several reports that a veteran's service dog, Dutch, is at risk of being put down because he bit a person who allegedly beat him. We are looking into this matter to determine the legitimacy of the reports. Updates will follow as more information becomes available.

http://www.montrosepress.com/breakin...a4bcf887a.html

Poop meets fan.

Good job raising awareness.

Incredibly insensitive decision by the judge.

Jeremy and Heather offered to send Dutch through a rehabilitation program, agreeing to the judge that if the evaluator considered Dutch aggressive, that they would surrender him. The Aguilars say that the judge told them that would only be allowed if Dutch's former owner would agree to it. Dutch's former owner refused to agree to the Aguilars' offer.

Since when does Sharia Law apply here?

Also, it's pretty obvious that if the former owner is pressing charges for this bullsh** there is no way the former owner would agree to any leniet terms.

"I started punching him in the face and kept punching him until my hands hurt so bad I couldn't hit him anymore," after which she grabbed a metal pole and used the pole to beat the service dog. She then pulled Dutch from her backyard into the house by his collar, and grabbed his mouth as soon as they got inside. Dutch then bit her. The woman was bitten on her leg and buttock and Dutch sustained injuries to his face and head.
Quote:
"a vicious animal is defined as any animal that, without provocation, bites or attacks persons or other animals." heather says that although the judge agreed that dutch was provoked, the ordinance applies to dutch's case because he did not bite his former owner until they went inside the home and the beating occurred outside of the home. The judge ruled dutch's bite a separate circumstance from his beating and there is now an active euthanization order for dutch.
Insanity. The judge must think that dogs don't have a memory.

Signed.

This should be another Wannamaker, not because it would be hilarious, but because its the right thing to do.

I've passed this story onto everyone I know

As a last resort, Dutch could just 'run away' one night as it sounds like he is still in the possession of his owner. I am sure there are a ton of people willing to take him in until this blows over, heck I would harbour a fugitive dog.

Passed it along as well and put it on Facebook.
It is pathetic how by the book this judge is being. The appeal would be with a new judge would it not? All charges, jail time and giving up of the dog should be dropped of someone with some common real life sense gets it,

Signed and shared. What a joke of a ruling. There are some disgusting human beings on this planet, and that POS is one glowing example. I would euthanize her personally without a shred of remorse
