mostly to support my team(s), but since I've moved around Canada a bit I've bought a few to symbolically adopt a new "hometown".

1. To support my team.
2. The Flames jersey is badass.
3. To wear everytime I fly in/out of Vancouver.
4. C of Red
5. The retro jersey is also badass.

I ask that question myself. I have something like Flames jersey's right now (including Iginla and Kiprusoff numbered/autographed/framed), a few Team Canada and even a Sakic/Yzerman jersey.
What the hell was I thinking? I only need one.
So... I have a bunch of jersey's if someone wants to buy them off me.

So far it sounds like most people who do either need a budget advisor or counselling.

I haven't bought a jersey since 2004 and I used to be a nut about them. Somewhere I have an Islanders fisherman jersey and that Mighty Ducks 3rd jersey, the first wave of 3rds.... Yes that one.. With wild wing crashing out of the ice.

usually, the primary reason i'll pick up jerseys now is becuz i'm getting them signed
once the flames come out with a new jersey i'll be sure to get one (... or two) to support my team

I just like jerseys. I will wear them for a bit, get them signed, and then eventually hang them up.

Jerseys are the perfect winter clothing, they are nice and warm under a light jacket yet are comfortable to wear indoors.

Because they were half off.
I had never purchased a Jersey before and I am a die hard hockey fan and a hockey player.
I keep all of my old team jersey's as momento's but never bothered to buy a Flames jersey. I guess I am just cheap.
I was given 2 white flames jerseys when I was a kid. This was before they had that god awful vertical striping they introduced in the mid 90's.
I am pretty happy with my Jersey purchase I made last week.
Flames Retro 3rd Jersey. A jersey they wore in the 80's and early 90's when they were consistently a cup contender.

I was asking myself this same question after seeing everyone scrambling for jerseys at Fan Attic during the 50% off sale. Me, I was probably in Grade 4 when I begged my mom to get me a Flames jersey (customized with my name and number on the back of course); probably didn't deserve it but I got it (and still have it to this day).
As an adult, I don't wear jerseys anymore (except to games) but still collect them... most game worns (Flames, Stampeders), but also certain replicas and authentics. I didn't buy any this go round, but did get a couple of authentics crested at half off

I, for some reason, am simply attracted to the sight of a jersey when I see it. Sometimes, I'll like the design of a jersey so much that I wish I were a fan of the team, simply so I could buy one and wear it (this goes primarily for NHL and NFL jerseys, in my case).
I also tend to get suckered in to always wanting to get a new Flames jersey when a player that I like starts playing in Calgary. Perhaps the most dubious choice I've yet made was to have "Karlsson" and the number 35 slapped onto the back of a blank jersey I had laying around, for which I -given today's trade- feel even dumber now than I did in the subsequent weeks after having it done.
I also have a Bouwmeester hanging in the closet that I've been afraid to wear, and used the 50% off sale to pick up a Cammalleri, which I'm hoping to get a bit more use out of before I start getting egged at the Saddledome again.
