Default LF: Major Maintenance Coordinator (Fort McMurray)

JOB OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Major Maintenance Lead, the Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for managing day to day activities of contract personnel during major outages, equipment recertifications and some project type work.
KEY ACCOUNTIBILITIES
  • Manage contractors to facilitate construction, maintenance and recertification of equipment
  • Coordinate with engineering to ensure document packages are completed to perform the required work scope
  • Coordinate with the Quality Assurance group to ensure inspection documents are current and readily available
  • Coordinate with Operations for start up and shut down of relative equipment
  • Ensure that all safety aspects for each project are met prior to each job commencing, i.e. permitting, isolations completed and lock outs are established correctly with all documentation completed
  • Coordinate with planners and schedulers to ensure job plans are complete and scheduled appropriately
  • Work with contractors to build execution schedules and ensure that all contractors are fully engaged and are utilizing Environmental Health and Safety programs
  • Audit safety performance of contractors as well as oversee the execution of small projects including their associated logistics
  • Provide Project updates related to safety, work execution, costs and scheduling to site Leaders
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:
  • Journeyman ticket in boilermaking, Electrical and Instrumentation, with 5 years related experience as a superintendent or coordinator in that field
  • Knowledge of boilers and associated equipment would be an asset
  • Experience with coordinating groups of contract personnel
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Effective communication skills both written and oral
  • A self starter with the ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Significant experience with oil and gas production
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of maintenance management methodologies
  • Strong computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office software programs
  • Knowledge of SAP
