Italian courts rule on vaccinations and autism case
http://www.independent.co.uk/life-st...m-7858596.html
Quote:
Sunday 17 June 2012
The controversial row surroundings alleged links between the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine and autism is set to be reignited following a court ruling in Italy.
Judges in Rimini, north-east Italy awarded the Bocca family Euros 174,000 (£140,000) after the Italian Health Ministry conceded the MMR vaccine caused autism in their nine-year-old son Valentino. Up to 100 similar cases are now being examined by Italian lawyers and experts suggest the case could lead to other families pursuing cases.
Doctors and health experts in Britain insist the link is merely coincidental saying children who develop autism, do so around the same time the MMR jab is administered. The Department of Health says 'there is a wealth of evidence showing children who receive the MMR vaccine are no more at risk of autism than those who don't.'

First some scientists are sent to jail for failing to predict an earthquake, and now this? I only hope I never find myself in an Italian courtroom.

Well, I think that settles it, then.
Clearly no link between MMR and Autism.

There is about as much of a link between MMR and Autism as there is between a one year olds first hair cut and autism.

FFS. I have a lot of friends in Italy, heck my folks lived there for a decade. But that place is spiralling down the drain. Economy is in the toilet, politicians are effed, and their courts are apparently insane.
I feel bad for them, it's a beautiful country with some lovely people. But their whole IDGAF attitude is leading to nothing but bad news.
Rimini is in the north for crying out loud. That's supposed to be smart sophisticated part of the country, if you are to believe the Lega Nord.

the Italian Health Ministry conceded the MMR vaccine caused autism
Why would the Ministry do that? There is no evidential link.
The country that brought us the Renaissance, is going in reverse.

I guess it's Europe's turn to throw away huge artistic and scientific advances in the name of stupidity, just like the Middle East.

I am of Italian heritage, and I can honestly say I have no idea what the hell their justice system is doing and am embarrassed by it.
This is actually less ridiculous then them throwing those scientists in jail for failing to predict an earthquake.
Just a complete gongshow.

This story(video) says it all about the Italian police and court system. Personally I was shocked at how many on CP thought Knox was guilty, for those who did,do yourself a favor and watch this.

The mob is alive and well in Italy. If court decisions in Italy were decided on facts...
Unbelievable. Going back to scientist being convicted for failing to predict earthquakes when the science is based on the past. Something is wrong with the judges.
With this, no evidence, just correlation. Any scientist would cry over this 'court' decision.

I wouldn't be betting for the Italian court system to come to the correct conclusion about that, either.
