T-bar will be awesome. Hell roaring is awesome as well. Good medicine, friends of Langley. These are all tree runs. Are you up for hiking?

T-Bar has lots of powder, but the runs are kind of short.
Good Medicne was great and Hellroaring as well.
Just got back from there. Everything is open, plenty of snow. Should be a good time.

Hellroaring is place to go.
The T-Bar has awesome snow, but the runs are ridiculously short that it's not worth more than a few runs. Take the T-Bar and go through the trees towards the backside chair for some really good tree runs.

I'm not really into hiking, I jsut don't se the point if a hill has alot of powder on it why you'd spend your time hiking and not skiing. If there's a shortage of powder then fair enough but from what I've been reading they have lots of snow.
Thanks for the tips

Big foot. Heaven's T-Bar isn't much of anything.
Look on the 'North Side' map: http://skiwhitefish.com/trailmaps.php. The runs I was talking about are Stumptown and Widow Pane.
Although I'd try hell-roaring first. If that's open it should be good all day. If it's closed I'd try the two runs I suggested above. A little bit of traversing at the start, but fresh lines through open trees the rest of the way down.

Hellroaring is awesome, go through one of the gates, the front side has alot of tree runs and with a amount of snow they got there there this last week it should be really good. Jayp is talking about the big foot t-bar, (heavens t-bar is never used) do some runs on it, they when your done with the t-bar you can take it back to chair 7. just go towards the window pane area, its much longer. you will end up at a cat track that will take you back towards chair 7. also you can get ski life tickets from Costco in Calgary for 4 lift tickets for $200. best place to eat is at Aunt B's, awesome wraps and the best cookies you will ever have. they are located in the Village.

the two runs you don't have to traver at all. just when you get off the t-bar and go to your right, take that trail and just as the trail starts to go right(down the hill, if that makes sense) you enter the trees there, and this area even it hasn't snow in a week you will be able to find untouch powder still

Hellroaring is definitely the place to go. I love that mountain. My favorite place to ski by far

What deal does Costco have? I'm going to Whitefish in 3 weeks or so.

Costco: Package of 2 lift tickets for $104, or it might be a 4-pack for $208.

Hellroaring and New Tbar are both good. Head through the gates into East Rim. Drop off the left for some chute skiing, straight of the front for a nice steep open run with some trees at the end or off the side down to Moe-mentum for some light tree skiing. The bowl on an inversion day to the right of chair 5 is one of the most enjoyable runs anywhere. Take Toni-Matt down the front and duck off to the old lift line about halfway down, you can see it if you look at the map close enough. Enjoy

Bump to and old thread.
Has anyone been to Big Mountain this year? I'm going in February. Hopefully there is as much snow as there was last year.

just as a complete aside, the price of food there is sure a lot less than any of our ski hills.

Hill is in good shape. They got a lot of snow last week. 200 cm base. I was there over Xmas and New Years. Skied powder everyday. My buddy who came down fell in love with the place. He said, "I can't ski Lake Louise anymore. Now I know what good snow is."
