After evaluating the team it is clear to me that they are on a slide, so it was either go one way or the other and I chose to fold for the season. I wanted to get back a roster player that can contribute now and still has room to grow. The prospects were compensation for the fact that Carter is more established.

Hartnell is still on the block, looking for a similar return.

A very easy deal to make and even though we absolutly suck in this year, our focus is to continue to improve. Adding Jeff Carter gives us another great option up front. It might be too late to get something going this year but we'll be ready to compete for next year worst case senario. Having our own 1st takes the stress off a little bit but we have no intention of 'rebuilding' and frankly do not have patience for it.
