As the new commish I am going to be dedicated to moving things along quickly.
That said I am a rookie commish so am wide open to suggestions.
It appears we are on the draft priority screen.

Jan 2nd and 3rd - set your draft priority. It appears to already be filled out in the expected order so there is nothing you have to do unless you want to mix it up. At some point on the evening of the 3rd I will advance to the next off season task.

Delayed it a day (ill have it advanced in the am) as I'm trying to get more people in. I think we have less than 10 active gms.
Then each day we will advance and free agency should start by Friday.

From the Season 2 roll call here we have 12 active gm's. Dallas posted here a while back so think he's still in. Colorado and San jose posted on the league wall, i see Calgary and Florida on a bunch and NJ, MTL, PIT were all on in the last day so we should almost have everybody still in. Only ones I don't know about would be Chi, Van and Car.

1 day left to sign your players. Tomorrow will be free agency.

This seemed to be a issue in other leagues so i need to make a executive decision for ours.
I am saying that you are free to sign any free agents you wish. Apparently computer teams let some pretty good players go.
My theory is many of us will overpay for free agents which might work out this year but will really hinder your team next year. As season 2 will go much quicker than season 1 we will be in season 3 in no time. If you overpay and try to buy everything up then you could be broke next year when someone who comes in to take over a cpu team deals with a ####ty season but then a ton of cash for next off season.

Trading with the computer will still require for the league to approve. If you have a deal you want to put through, please post it and we will get general consensus.

Happy day of final signing....Im sure we are all excited for free agency tomorrow.

Looks like I won't be getting Alex Burrows (he wanted 4 years @ 4.5M per), so if you want the rat, he looks to be about to hit the market!

I think he has to search for it and go in and pick a team, then you approve him.

From the messages I got back, looks like the only ones not active are Chicago, Carolina and possibly Colorado...they prob should be booted for now at least so the cpu can sign some guys before free agency. Otherwise they risk having all available players hit the market and lose who might be important to them.

Regarding my team, it seems nobody is willing to resign for a reasonable amount so I'll either be over cap and have to make trades to solve it or have a bunch of guys hit the open market tomorrow.

Some serious money being asked by quite a few guys. At the end of FA there should be quite a few stars still available as there is no way the league can afford all these guys!

Isn't he an RFA? Just qualify him then negotiate it during free agency.

^^ I looked and he is not a restricted free agent.
Also, Joffrey Lupul is available and at the ripe age of 18 (according to the game) he is already an 84. Anyone going to try and lock him up to a long contract with big money? a 7 year deal at 6.5 mill per would be worth it IMO as he will likely be a 95 in a matter of couple seasons.
