Default NHL GameCentre Live - $49.99 For Season

I know there's that other thread, but you'll have to go four plus pages of speculation to get the pricing information.

So with gamecentre I know they record all the games but when you wanna watch them if you miss one is there a way to see it without seeing the scores?

Is that deal only for existing customers? I cut my cable last spring with the intention of getting gamecenter live instead for this season but I haven't signed up yet.

So is it the same price for Center Ice? I am not a big fan of watching games on computers. I like to watch on my 55 " tv.

You have a really short first name.

Tim?
Ian?
Tom?
Tad? (please let it be Tad)

Anyway, what's the non-renewal price? I really don't want to give these people any money beyond paying for TSN/Sportsnet, but I'm also kind of interested in giving them some money. I've been watching fat guys pawn stuff, fat guys buy stuff, fat guys catch crab, fat guys fix cars, fat guys drive trucks, and fat guys pan for gold on TV for months.

With these devices you can stream the games on your TV. You just need unblock-us to get the local games.

I believe it will be available through Xbox360 also.

Yeah there was a 360 version of that app at E3.

See I am interested in getting centre ice but the local games are blocked out so doing this with unblock-us (which would also benefit me in re: Netflix) seems like a pretty solid plan.

The PS3 app, though costing $10 works great for streaming games on my TV.

It's Tad. Most people call me Ta though.

I asked support what the price would be for non-renewal, and it's the same price of 50 bucks.

Are playoffs a separate charge, and does this work if you're overseas? (I.e. subscribe while in Calgary, but then use it while traveling).

I booked my wedding and honeymoon so they would be just after playoffs. Now the stupid lockout has ruined everything, and I know the Flames will go deep just to punish me. I need something to watch us in the cup finals while I'm in the British Isles.

Does anyone know if the national TSN and CBC games also blacked out? Even if your internet connection appears to be from the US?

I keep threatening to pull the plug on cable, but I do enjoy watching my hockey in the evenings. While technically a grey area (by bypassing the blackouts), I'd feel less guilty because I would still be paying for the product to be delivered.

How does this compare to the ordinary price? Is it simply approximately halved to accommodate for the shortened season or is there a significant discount?

You should be cool if your IP is from the US. I've subscribed to GC when I lived in NY, and also in TX and I was only unable to watch if the Flames game was nationally broadcast in the US. Which almost never happens, unless they play Detroit.

Last year it cost $199 for an 82 game season. This year is $50 for 48. Pretty big savings.

I tried the PS3 app 2 years ago, and found the frame rate too low to be enjoyable. The resolution was better than expected, but the motion was too jerky. Have they improved since then? Am I just too picky? I have 50 mps fiber internet, so doubt it is an internet speed thing. We only get 5 hd channels through Verizon for the tv package, so I'd prefer gamecenter, but find smooth sd more watchable than jerky hdtv.

If ony there wasnt blackout restrictions it would be an easy buy. However it did happen to work on my iphone, and if it works on my 360 then it would be a perfect deal.

Long shot but does anyone know what happens if you were a subscriber last season?

My understanding was that they automatically renewed but then the lockout happened and now when I log in it recognises my log in details but says sign up now.

Obviously I don't want to end up paying twice and being in Scotland would rather not pay for an international phone call if someone here knows.

Thanks

Neil
