That's interesting. I was watching an old horror movie from the early 80's just a month or so ago called Dark Night of the Scarecrow starring Charles Durning, and I was saying to my Girlfriend that I can't believe he's still alive, as he seemed like the typical out of shape kind of guy that would be dead by now. And sure enough, not even 8 weeks after saying that... poof. He's dead.

I had a conversation with someone in late November about "12/12/12": December 12, 2012. She said to the effect of "Just think: nobody today will be around for the next time this happens."

I said, "Pff, the oldest person in the world was around for 01/01/01. NINETEEN-OH-ONE. It's perfectly conceivable that a baby born tomorrow, somewhere, will be around for December 12, 2112."

My point was absolutely correct...

... but the oldest person in the world that I had referred to died a little over a week later, on December 4. She didn't actually make it to 12/12/12...
