I remember someone mentioned mining bitcoins a while back, and I spent the next 2 hours on Google figuring out exactly how it worked and if it was possible to make any money on it. In the end, it seemed shady enough that I decided it wasn't worth my time or effort.

I'm pretty sure someone in the tech forum mentioned they were pretty big into mining bitcoins, so you could also check there.
