Hey Cp Brain Trust,

I just recently graduated this summer and have started working a contract based job occasionally leaving me with large chunks of time. Im curious if anybody knows of "any" type of either contract work or volunteering commitments to fill these voids and keeping me from going stir crazy.

Need a bit more info than that. What sort of free time do you have? Do you have 1-4 days off in a row? 1-4 hours off in a day? What do you like to do? What do you WANT to do with your time? Finding something to volunteer with isn't too tricky, honestly. Figure out what you'd like to do (Like; "I want to help feed the homeless") and you'll find an organization that will have you as a volunteer pretty quickly through a little google fu.

I could probably get you an interview to be my unpaid assistant. The hours are awful and the working conditions are terrible but it will look great on your resume!

Seriously though, what are your career aspirations? Is there an organization that would be beneficial to your overall career goals? Probably be better to narrow things down than to get a bunch of random activities.

No need. Unlike the NHL and NHLPA i'm sure we can come to a comprimise. How about you take him for business hours 9-5 and I get him from 6-8? Contract lengths are an issue as this needs to be a 2 year agreement with a make whole of $100 a month seeing as you get him for 8 hours a day. Do we have a deal?

Haha as long as Im mostly clothed when im cleaning your house Im in.

Seriously though, I graduated with a geology degree so Ive been working wellsite and sometimes I have 1-2 weeks in between wells. Something that would be ideal would be a flexible intern position downtown where I could do a random week here or there related to geology, but that is an ideal situation. Other than that id be willing to try anything because it would be a good opportunity something to try out new things while the weather is crappy and I cant spend a lot of time outdoors.

Can't he use himself? He's gotta be a tool if he agreed to help you and doesn't have the tools.

If you are serious about volunteering, send me a PM. The agency I work for does a lot of community work and has a wide range of volunteer Opportunities. Something like that looks good on any resume.

Even if the positions are not a fit for you, they could hello you find an organization that would be more suitable.
