CIS football is fun. Have some friends playing at UBC and McGill so I always hope they do well (with McGill it's a lot of hope...)

OUAA opening weekend was kind of strange; there was only one game where the winning margin was less than 30 points and that was a 19-0 U of T win over Laurier.
Mac put up 50 points, UWO 54, Windsor 63 (!), and Queens was only able to score 48.

Didn't MRU get prohbationary membership in CIS or something?
Their eventual entrance into football should provide us with some hilarious antics.

It would be interesting if they decided to field a football team, there are certainly talented players at MRU who either play for the Colts or don't play at all. It would certainly be a blow to the Colts, but the impact on the Dinos is hard to say. There are plenty of guys who played a year or two with the Colts while at MRU before transferring to UC, if the academic option is there those guys might stay at MRU all 4-5 years instead. Of course the academic part is a big if.

If anything, it could lead to an interesting cross-town rivalry if MRU ever becomes competitive.
Aren't the SAIT-MRU hockey games pretty good?

I didn't realize that it is no longer "University of Western Ontario" and is now "Western University Canada".
That seems like a strange change to an already well established franchise/brand.

I didn't hear of that before (and I'm a graduate). UWO sounds better than WUC.

I received a Mac alumni email that talked about the football game "against Western University (formerly University of Western Ontario)"
But I agree, UWO is a well known brand. And now the name sounds like the school should be found in western Canada.

Blackout game this friday for USask. Hopefully the hype of this game will wake up the Huskies to win these last 3 games of the regular season, set them selves up so they don't need to play Calgary right away.

Dinos closed out the regular season against Manitoba with a ridiculous 78-54 final score... 132 points scored in the game at McMahon stadium. The win gave the Dinos a 7-1 record and they will begin their drive for a 5th consecutive Hardy Cup and the Vanier Cup with a playoff game at home against the same Manitoba Bisons next week.

Wow anyone watching the Western vs McMaster game?
Western is just playing themselves out of this game, and now McMaster just had a 103 yard touchdown. It's 23-18 McMaster with 5 minutes left in the 3rd.
Game is on The Score if anyone wants to watch the end.
