Default Chimney sweeping

So moved into the house last year with a wood burning fireplace and since I don't know the last time it was done, I figured now would be a good time.

Anyone recommend a decent chimney sweeper? Do it themselves?

Just call Window Works.
They have all the right tools and can make sure it's done right.

My advice...don't use a furnace or window company to clean your chimney. Especially if you don't know what's up there. All they will do is stick a vacuum up it.

I actually used to work for this company...they specialize in this work. One of the oldest in Calgary.

Clean Sweep Property Services
403-640-4240

They will use the proper brushes/brooms and clean-up methods.

You are wise to get this done. It used to blow my mind how dangerous some of these chimney/fire place combos used to be.

Get your girlfriend and/or mistress to do it for you. You dont even have to give her a brush.

I don't think much has changed in the Calgary chimney sweeping business since the last post.

This is why child labour laws were always a bad idea. How many lives must we lose to fires starting in poorly cleaned chimneys before these short-sighted provisions are repealed?

I didn't realize at first that this was an old thread. Came in to make a joke, realized I made the same joke I was going to make today, two years ago.
