The New Jersey Devils have traded forwards Ilya Kovalchuk, Henrik Sedin, defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson and 2 first round picks to Pittsburgh for superstar Sidney Crosby

League sources have confirmed that the New Jersey Devils have indeed made a trade, however the trade appears to be one different than the one in the rumor mills.....Reliable sources indicate that the Devils have traded left winger Carl Hagelin, defenseman Mark Fistric, two first round picks (WAS and NJ) and a second round pick in the upcoming entry draft in exchange for New York Rangers center Logan Couture. It has been well known that the Devils have been trying to consolidate their talent and this proposed deal would fit in perfectly.

Couture is expected to slot in on the Devils first line at right wing and although he has not played much on the wing, during his draft year Couture was considered a center/wing because of his on-ice awareness. Update: thank God that original trade wasn't the one, still an overpay for one player IMO, but not nearly as bad as the original.

TSN update...let the debate begin. will be interesting to see how players grow because i know lots of you don't value draft picks too much, but iirc not every player coming out of the draft is sub 60 overall. at least not with whatever roster that's in my offline Be a GM
