JOB OVERVIEW
The quality assurance inspector will provide quality control and NDE services and compliance control services as required by the Extraction Quality assurance programs and Suncor standards.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES- Follow Suncor EH&S polices and steward to Suncor's "Journey to Zero".
- Complete inspections of pressure equipments, pressure piping and structural components in accordance with applicable governmental regulations and Suncor standards
- Provide technical expertise related to welding, and pressure equipments issues and repair work scopes that contribute to improved plant performance and reliability
- Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance to their quality control system and Suncor specifications
- Support Maintenance and Engineering with qualified inspection services and technical data in a timely manner, in order to reduce unit down time and to help in defining failure modes and effects, root cause, and corrective actions
- Ensure Non-conformances (NCR's) have been dispositioned as required
- Write QA procedures, standards and work practices providing the necessary expertise
- Review drawings and work scopes to ensure that they comply with all applicable codes, Suncor specifications for the fabrication, repair and alterations of pressure piping components, ,pressure vessels steel structures and tanks
- Participate in Quality Audit in Extraction and do follow -up of Corrective actions
- Participate in regular scheduled Safety, Quality and maintenance meetings
- Be available for on-call duties as required and as scheduled.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:- Diploma in engineering technology/Welding/ NDT or engineering degree is required
- API 510/ API 570, and ABSA in-service Pressure Vessel inspector Certificate of Competency is preferred
- 8 years of experience in pressure equipment inspection in an Oil industrial operation plant environment
- CGSB level I or II certification in MT, RT, or UT is preferred
Skills and Knowledge:- Strong knowledge in welding, inspection methods, and non-destructive Testing
- Strong knowledge and experience in Quality assurance Systems
- Excellent communication skills
- Good computer Skills
