a) comparable player with less potential plus a depth potential player
b) picks and prospects that match what the market has set for a 4.5 star potential player.

Rumors continue to circulate throughout the NHL on potential trades prior to the trade deadline. One team that is known to be buying is the New Jersey Devils, who have made their intent to trade up clear and have stated that no pieces are untouchable. Ilya Kovalchuk however seems to be sure he will not be traded. In an interview with reporter Hazel Mae he said that he was in the process of moving his mansion from Atlanta ato a rural area of New Jersey. When asked about the trade rumors, Ilya said "...coach promise me I won't be traded. Stamp promised me I won't be traded. So I know I won't be traded...."
