Kids in my neighborhood have been doing a lot of bottle drives. I would say golf tournament, but it's a little late for that. Hockey pool? Raffle draws from donated items? I went to my nephew's team 'bowling brawl' for a bowling tournament. They had a silent auction & small things for sale.
Make a 100-square raffle board. Sell each square for $10. Make the prize something like an iPad. You will make $1000 from selling the squares, and (rough estimate on price) is $550 for an iPad. So your team makes $450. Or even make it a 50/50 draw. Person makes $500, team makes $500.
Cash Call!
Save hassling friends and family and $200-$300 per family will cover 4-5 tournaments. This is the easiest and quickest way where everyone shares proportionately. Otherwise a few could be doing all the work for the group.
