This is making the rounds now here in Iceland, to be quite honest I'm with the cop on this one, it was a bit excessive but wow you do not spit at a cop, if anything he showed a lot of restraint trying to ignore her until she spit on him. (It seems as he was going to let her be and drive on.)
That is the obvious thing, he was basically just telling her to move out of the way, then used the door to push her away. Had she just moved on she would not have been arrested.
She went out of her way to provoke and then spit on him to seal the deal.
So that's what passes for police brutality nowdays. In my days if you spit on a cop, they would have arrested you, taken you downtown and given you the pink bunny treatment.
Any of you that were arrested drunk and being abusive in Calgary will know what I mean.

I don't think cops have the authority to be violent in the face of disrespect, but when you're spit on I can understand how you'd lose it for a second.

As you can see, I'm completely ridiculous.
Well "throw her harshly" and smack her pretty hard on that bench..
But still, spit on a cop you expect any less?
She hits the bench, because she was resisting the take down. Doesn't look to me like he purposely pushed her into the bench at all. The cops don't even thrown her onto the ground.
This video is very tame by Canadian standards. I was also expecting a video showing batons or boots being used.
The officer pulls a little too aggressively on her arm, but even that might be standard procedure.
