Default Freaks And Geeks

Anyone ever watch this series ? I just spotted it on Netflix so I decided to give it a shot. It's pretty cool so far and has a great cast, James Franco , Seth Rogan and Jason Segel to name a few . Worth a look if you're bored !

This showed up on Netflix just after I bought the DVDs at Costco. Oh well, they were only $30 for the set.

Undeclared was also a decent show that got axed prematurely.

Freaks and Geeks was incredible and it's even better to watch now that Appatow has broken through. Seth Rogen was only 16 and fresh from Vancouver and obscurity, Jason Segel is so horribly awkward and the cameos from Shia Lebouf and Rashida Jones, make it even cooler. One of the greatest television shows of all time.

The wife and I are actually halfway through watching this on Netflix. Such a great show. I was so disappointed when it was cancelled. Glad to have the chance to watch it again.

This show is the best. i was a combination freak/geek in high school (with a little bit of jock) so I can relate to a lot of things. Though my guidance counselor was a giant dick, not a hippey.
Also I have a giant crush on both Lindsay and Millie.

Heard lots about it, never saw it. I'll have to give er a look. One other one-and-done underrated school show I did watch though was Undeclared, with many of the same cast members.

Didn't even realize it was also done by Apatow until this thread reminded me of the show & I looked it up.

One of my favorite shows. So well done.

If you like Freaks and Geeks, check out Judd Apatows other show Undeclared. It's in a similar vein, but about college with a lot of the same actors. Not as good as Freaks and Geeks, but still a very good show.

I was pleasantly surprised. Segel steals it in my opinion, such a loveable guy. Franco does his best greaser impression. And the kid from waiting is funny too, I loved when they fought the bully. Probably going to watch all of it.

For anyone who watched it when it aired the first time, Knocked Up felt like redemption at it's finest. A hollywood movie that made millions on millions and you had Segel, Rogen, Starr, Barauchel all in it. That group really paid their dues too, as after Freaks and Geeks, Segel especially had about 5 years of doing nothing.

Apparently Forgetting Sarah Marshall was based on Jason Segals real life relationship with Linda Caredllini (Lindsay Weir).

Amazing to see how much has come from that one show.

from what I understand it was just the nude breakup scene that was inspired by it

I just started watching this on Netflix last week and loved it! I was sorely disappointed to learn there was only 1 season. Too bad. The content can be pretty adult for that time though. What channel/time did it air?

I know its been mentioned a couple times in this thread already, but after you finish that off, watch Undeclared next (if its on Netflix anyway). Also only one season, but its also done by Apatow and has a few from the same cast (Rogan, Barauchel..). Just modern day (or 2000 anyway) setting and its their freshman year of college.

Solid show with great reviews. But like most in that boat it seems, nobody watched it so it got the axe.

Yeah Undeclared was the first thing that came up as suggestions after the last episode. Ill definitely give it a look. Its nice to know that all these guys got their due eventually. Its pretty amazing how many even moderately famous people went through Freaks and Geeks.
