FDA approves medicine for blacks only

I for one, am glad that the first medicine of this kind helps a minority. If not, this would have become nasty.

Is it a good idea in general? I don't know.

Well the company said that it works better in Blacks as their reason. But to SELL only to Blacks rather than market to Blacks....errr...uummmm...

the thing that might bother me is, the medicine seems to help other races, albeit, not as well, but still shows an improvement. This articel sayss that they would not sell it to them. Or am I mis interpretting?
That is kind of fishy.

There has to be more to this story then what is in the article. How could a company get away with selling stuff only ot one race?? Could you imagine if a new drug came out and it was only available to white people?

The article says that blacks fared better than other races in the studies. So what? Does that mean that just because it doesn't help white guys quite as much they don't have the right to buy/use the drug? What a joke.
