Iceland's tourism agency, perhaps concerned that travelers are discouraged by the "Ice" part even though the island is warmed by the Gulf Stream, is sponsoring a contest to rename the country.
Suggestions?

Changing the name would be idiotic IMO. Just do a better job promoting the country. Way back in the day I thought Iceland was all ice but then again I didnt have any say in where I was going for a vacation. I figured most adults know Iceland is not "Ice" but do not know all that the country has to offer.
