JOB OVERVIEW
You are responsible for the design, configuration, enhancements, testing, reporting, and documentation for the ERP systems and point solution applications related to business processes. You proactively identify areas for improvement within the ERP applications and play a lead role in exploring optimum solutions in cooperation with the businesses affected by the change. You operate as a member of a team that is the single point of contact for the business process team in the scope of their SAP modules and/or point solution applications and lead activities to address day to day problems as well as to support change initiatives and software upgrades
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Subject Matter Expert for Maintenance and Reliability technology, systems, and tools across Plant Maintenance. Assess technology systems and tools, provide support where necessary, and assist in the identification of enhancement opportunities and proposes detailed end to end solutions. Depending on job level, has an extensive knowledge of the SAP ERP interactions with other modules and applications
  • Key resource in the design of SAP ERP system improvements and advise on business processes and delivery
  • Responsible for documentation, training, and authorization profiles
  • Actively participate in strategic and tactical planning activities within the ERP Team/user community for leveraging SAP; provide advice to business leaders on improvement and enhancement opportunities
  • Maintain/ enhance the configuration of SAP modules and/or point solutions supported by the team - experience preferred but not necessary
  • May assist the user community in ensuring the integrity of the master data, and in developing the end user roles
  • Use knowledge on a daily basis to address system problems
  • Continuously improve business processes by enhancing and utilizing functionality within the ERP systems, resulting in an end-to-end reduction in operating costs
  • Lead, review, approve and/or steward Management of Change (MOC) requests as directed by the ERP Manager and Business Process Drivers.
  • Act as a consultant to the corporation related to the ERP systems and applications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:
  • Considered a power user or an expert user of SAP R/3 ERP interface/related applications
  • 5-15 years experience in a Technology Improvement, Sustainment related function and/or Plant Maintenance environment
  • Post secondary education preferred with a post secondary Technology related degree preferred but not required
  • Past experience leading technology change initiatives is preferred but not required
  • Experience using SAP Business Explorer (BEX) and/or SAP Business Warehouse preferred
  • Oil & Gas, Mining or Utilities industry experience preferred
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Basic understanding of project implementation methodologies
  • Project management skills to lead small to medium projects with other SAP team members and representation from the business community
  • Negotiation and consensus building skills
  • Time management, task prioritization and multi-tasking capability with an ability to assess when and how to question or reject work requests; must be able to justify/explain this to team leader or the business community making the request
  • Good leadership, team & inter-personal skills
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Well developed "out of the box" thinking to identify opportunities for leverage and efficiencies.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Training, coaching and mentoring skills, with the ability to explain the complexities of the system in a manner that can be understood by the various audiences and users
  • Must work with customer service top of mind as a metric for success
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Some business travel across the country is required
