I've always like Plekanec and he'll slot in well as my 2nd line C. He'll bump Hudler over to the wing. It sucks losing a couple of good prospects in Pearson and Maroon, but you have to give to get and Plekanec will be a big upgrade to my team.

Big win for the Panthers here imo. Plekanec is an ideal 2nd line CPHL center who plays a solid 2way game. Booth is more of a 3rd liner and I am not sold on the prospects going the other way. However if Pearson develops to his full potential then this deal could even up down the road.

Plekanec is a 1 year rental and pending UFA and no one in their right mind should be offering a contract to him. So not as bad as it seems IMO.

As MJK said I had no plans for Plekanec inr the long term, and my team is going no where after moving Loungo, Sedin and Giroux for young prospects and picks. I had a somewhat better deal on the table, but cheese room and cap came into play.

For me I get a younger RFA forward in Booth who I feel can regain his early Florida form if he stays healthy, and 3 prospects that all have the potential to play in the NHL in the next few years.

I also gain a million in cap space and didn't give up any cheese which may help me make further moves in the rebuilding of the Devils.
